England v Germany

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 This poem I’m writing
Will have little mention of play.
More what did not happen,
Than whatever did.
James played as usual
Inconsistently terrible.
A mad mix for goalkeepers
But Capello’s insistently blind.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Finally, some sense!
Substituted at half time
Why, I’m not quite sure
But it’s a start, a start of what we want.
We want to see
As I’m sure a lot of you know
Our legend, Rob Green
In the goal, playing for his country
Instead of old Calamity.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He deserves this more than most
Capello sees him play consistently
On great form, in front of his nose
But he stays stubborn
Stays blind.
Portsmouth v West Ham
Why did he not see?
Greeno’s the man for England,
He’ll realise one day

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But hopefully
before it becomes
far too late.
