Euro 1066

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Harry picked up a ball
On his way down from York
His shirt ripped and bloodied
His team tired but not defeated
Ready for Europe
The Normans
(Not yet French!)
Homeground advantage
Harry is not about to lose his crown….

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Waiting was WiIlliam
Strong centre forward
Known as “The Bastard”
Brought his strongest
And finest team
Stepped off the ferry
Fell and with a glance
Claimed the English pitch
Conquered already….

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Onto the park came rushing
Shouting snarling
Harry’s boys rained down
Shots slings fron the right and left
William’s lads deep in defence
Feign and make haste to race
Harry leads from the front
Into the traps….

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The sharp shooters of William
Too much for Harry and he takes his eye
Off the game (for just a second)
To lose, history records the score
As William strikes deep and fatally
Into the heart of the English defence
And a Conqueror is born.
