It’s now been more than 30 years
But feels like yesterday

Couldn’t sleep a wink all week
The time was passing slow
Until at last we caught the bus

21st November 1970
A game to rank with the best

It started slow but not for me
My heart beat like a drum

Heighway he was magic
With the ball he’d race and then shoot
And Toshack a Colossus

The Kop it swayed just like the sea
Red tide against the blue
And what a sight that glorious result
Liverpool 3 Everton 2!
