First Game Watching The Reds

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s now been more than 30 years
But feels like yesterday
The day I got my ticket for heaven
My very first Liverpool game

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Couldn’t sleep a wink all week
The time was passing slow
Until at last we caught the bus
And just one more minute to go

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Clutched me scarf with one small hand
The other held by me Dad
Something special would then unfold
In this the derby match

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 21st November 1970
A game to rank with the best
And tho we’ve had some classic ones
I still feel myself so blessed

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 It started slow but not for me
My heart beat like a drum
Clemence Lindsay Lloyd and Hall
Our time had surely come

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Heighway he was magic
With the ball he’d race and then shoot
And Toshack a Colossus
Used his head just like a boot

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The Kop it swayed just like the sea
Red tide against the blue
And what a sight that glorious result
Liverpool 3 Everton 2!
