Football

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Someone was watching Charlton in the Sixties
Someone was watching Lampard in the Noughties
Someone was watching Best in the Sixties
Someone was watching Beckham in the Noughties
Someone was watching everything

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Football in the Sixties and the Noughties
But something is obvious
While it is easy to forget the Champions League Finals of our age from of hundreds of televised games
Everybody at any time can remember Manchester United v Benfica played in 1968
Rather than any today’s matches

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Someone was watching the football in the Sixties
Someone was watching football in the Noughties
Everybody remembers 1968
Many forget the Noughties
That means that what we call legendary had been played in the 1968
TV subscribers’ football was played between early Nighties and today
If melancholy and thinking about the past is to bring important things to note I would describe the 1968 Champions Cup Final as the most remembered

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The same with the World Cup
Pele and Brazil in the 1970
A different Brazil in 2002 and the astonishing Rivaldo
On the other hand the match Liverpool v A.C Milan in 2005 is more talked about than the match Liverpool v Roma in 1984

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But but but..
Remember the famous novel by Orwell is 1984
And in 1984 Liverpool won European Cup and Everton F.A Cup

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Someone was watching George Best in the Sixties
Someone was watching the football in the Noughties
