I Can’t Be Bothered To Be Honest!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I couldn’t be bothered to pull on me clothes,
Grab the tube, then to venture to town
I’m in danger of becoming a couch spud I know
But then apathy’s awash at our ground

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I made up me mind yesterday evening
That I just didn’t fancy the game
I couldn’t pass on me ticket for nisht* to me kids
So I’ve an inkling that they feel the same

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I don’t mean to moan, but truthfully
Is there any excitement out there to spare?
Cos I’m slightly fed up with mediocrity,
Sad and out dated dull fare

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Me team is in second position
But second in what and to whom?
Like a lot of real fans I should just wash me hands,
Of this overpaid, overhere acting school

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 If the way that we’re playing warrants runners up spot
Then the rest must be terrible or worse
But thats no excuse for this malaise, this curse
That most deem is bought on by a bottomless purse?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Money might make some fans happy
With that short fix we know as success
But the real fans turns up in their droves
At small clubs each week for entertainment, excitement, for less

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 It’s not just my team, most matches I’ve seen
This season, have been such a drag
The only excitement in the ground that I go to
Is when someone is caught smoking fags

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 I know that it’s Christmas the season of cheer
The time that we should think of others
But do those prima donna’s with whom we persevere
Care, much for us fans, if we’re totally honest?

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 I’ve travelled the country many years with me team
So I’m not of these fair weather supporters
Though just lately, this constant moaning and bitching
It seems, is all one needs to become part of that order

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Get relegated, be stated, be hated,
Get us some attack minded kids on the park
Who’ll give us excitement, and you never know just might
Take this great game of ours out of the dark?

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 I wanna be drained at the end of each game
I wanna sore throat from the singing and cheering
But what I miss most of all, when I’m at ‘the football’
The excitement and passion’s…. gone missing!

Notes

Er… sorry to be a downer folks, but I’ve been feeling like this for some time now, and from what I’ve been reading here, it’s not just only me that feels the same way.

Very worrying.

peace.

kev.
