If Allardyce was half as nice

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 If you have not achieved your goal
In six short months, your head should roll?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 When asked to do a job, then I’m
Entitled to expect some time.
Is half a season quite enough
To amply show a club your stuff?
When Fergie was out on a limb,
United’s board stood fast by him
And backed him solid to the hilt,
Though fans demanded blood be spilt.
And it was what? Three years or so
Before results began to flow.
But fans these days at every ground
Demand that things be turned around
In days or weeks. And if they’re not,
Another head goes in the pot.
Newcastle fans have got their way –
Sam Allardyce is gone today –
But will the next man wake the Toon,
Or will he, too, be gone by June?

Notes

The lack of patience by fans and the spinelessness of directors these days is mind-boggling. Maybe Sam will come back to Ireland…
