Money’s Too Tight

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Rumour mill sparking
into overdrive:
‘fifty hopefuls’ narrowed
down to two:
galloping former Town
full back Hockaday
and Money
of ex Walsall fame.
But Newcastle don’t
want to play ball (allegedly.)
Other names thrown
into the hat:
Wily Wilson and
today Gary Mac,
sacked by Leeds after
just eleven months
in the hot seat.
Whoever comes in
will have one helluva job:
top scorer Cox has lost
his confidence, has the
touch of a blacksmith;
midfield off the pace
and laboured.
And as for the defence.
Where do you start?
Keeper Smith, like Dracula,
afraid of crosses;
two rookies in the back four
and no talking, absolutely no
communication whatsoever,
resulting yesterday in
comical own goal
by Ifil.
Now no wins in ten for Town
and County Ground like the moon:
no atmosphere.
Do something somebody!

Notes

This time last year I was wondering whether STFC would survive. Now a year on & this time our league position is looking perilous. 5 weeks without a manager, a caretaker who’s out of his depth, players who are totally bereft of confidence & a ground that resembles a morgue. Apart from that it’s fine. Merry Christmas!
