Not A Happy Scouse in the house

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Over in Anfield where the Scousers in Red play
They secretly dreaded the arrival of Arsenal that day

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The Gunners were missing players, but playing with Sol
There was no way he would give up an easy goal

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Vieira was out with injury so there was nothing to do
But slip in a Brazilian, that new international – Edu

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We missed Freddie too but no need to holler
Arsene just replaced him with Mr. Arsenal – Ray Parlour

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The team has been suffering but not like Liverpool
Even depleted, we’d take the Merseysiders to football school

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 And just to make the teams almost equal, make them fair
Monsieur Wenger decided to test the kid Jeremie Aliadiere

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 But football, being like life, things don’t go according to plan
In the first half Liverpool took the ball and ran, ran, ran

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 They had victory in their eyes and we’re out for the kill
And before long Arsenal were trailing, one-nil

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 You can play hard when it’s pouring and wet
But nothing matters unless the ball goes into the back of the net

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 We had a free kick and the result of it was a bit jammy
Edu hit it but the own goal was credited Sammi

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 The game was a see-saw, the going got tough, the tough got going
Unfortunately Liverpool lost their attacker, little Mikie Owen

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 With Owen sat on the ground being treated, it was nice to see
Our man Thierry, pat him on the head and ask, “ca va, mon ami?”

13 Leave a comment on verse 13 0 Soon afterwards the game was in our favor
When Pires hit a volley that any striker would savor

14 Leave a comment on verse 14 0 It’s great to be a Gooner because it ended in that way
Another Arsenal Frenchman saved another Arsenal day

15 Leave a comment on verse 15 0 Going to Anfield is a terrifying venue
But the tables are turned when they put Arsenal on the menu.

Notes

A depleted Arsenal but the boys still got the job done. Congratulations to Edu who, I heard, will join the Brazilian national team for the first time. It was unfortunate that Owen was hurt but nice to see Henry go over to him and say a few friendly words.
