Oranges and Lemons

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The oranges faced the lemons,
A rivalry keen and old.
Publicity had been fruitful
And every ticket sold.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The managers hated each other,
Long, long ago they fell out.
The lemons were still quite bitter,
Though glad the match was a sell-out.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The police advised spectators
To avoid the last-minute rush,
Advising them, please come early
To avoid a terrible crush.
