Racism

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Racism? Where does it begin?
Football is not to blame
Kipling? Perhaps; though it seems a sin
To soil the great man’s name

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Patriotism, you say; am I obtuse?
Racism, from whence its stem?
Is not the word a mere excuse
To say, “ We are better than them?”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 To every human, the right to pursue
Prosperity and pleasure
Martin Luther King, and Kennedy too
Have left us words to treasure

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But do not let their good work end
Let us unite and SHOUT:
THIS IS MY BROTHER, MY SISTER, MY FRIEND
Let us KICK RACISM OUT!
