Remembrance

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Of string vests on the washing line
And a drop of sparkling white wine.
Of roll your own cigarettes
And placing racing bets.
Of mint chewing gum
And fine bottled rum.
Of Brylcreem upon his head
And afternoons in bed.
Of coal tar soap
And worshipping the pope
Of eating fine English grub
And Sunday afternoons in the pub.
Of supporting Everton through and through
And watching Liverpool occasionally too.
Of pawning suits to find some cash
And eating lovely corned beef hash.
Just some dear memories of my beloved grandad
To have known him I am extremely glad
But now he is no longer with us here
Although I can picture him in heaven drinkin’ a beer!
