Saturday

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Saturday has come round again,
And my teams playing away.
I don’t know if I’ll get to the match,
I’ve been in bed all day.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I went down with the flu
After Saturday’s match;
When I sat in the pouring rain
Watching my team, who were playing at home
Failing to score again

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Will it make any difference?
If I’m there or not?
Will they see me applauding and score?
Will they pass any better
When I shout and cheer
“Come on lads just one more”
I’ll make one last effort
To get to the match,
They’ll win this last game,
Just you see.
I’ll sit in my wheelchair
And cheer on the lads,
It could be the last time for me.

Notes

As we are the site of the month at West Ham United Study Centre and as more and more Football Club Study Centres are likely to be tuning in, I thought it a good idea to send in choice poems by students old and new at Brockworth.
