Spoiling The Party

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 All of their fans came along
Three coaches full and bursting with song
Promotion to witness and they thought
The battle to win would be hard fought.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Radios kept close next to ears
Full time draws just ever near
A goal, one goal is all they need
Just as long as they don’t concede.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Encourage or complain but they always implore
That goal they wish their team would score
A 40 yard screamer or in off a knee
They’d take either happily.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Disaster strikes, they’re 1-0 down
10 minutes left induce the frowns
On the faces of those once singing
Can’t believe that they’re not winning.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Maybe it was the shaking nerves
The bounce of the ball and how it swerves
I guess they’ll think the ref was bad
But then they’ll remember the chances they had.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So they’re stuck with us in this league
Hello disappointment and sickening fatigue
Some will shrug and some will weep
Lost promotion that was theirs to keep.
