The Aeneid F.C.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Just as a storm cloud out at sea burns luminous
With both the setting sun and the lightening sparks
Of the fiery firmament, so doth
A noble football team advance like Aeneid,
Past Ajax, Kevin Hector, the Wooden Horse of Adams,
And Roy Keane snapping at various Achilles’ heels,
And so through all the labyrinthine tricks of Fate,
To shine in the heavens with all the golden light
Of both Apollo and majestic Jupiter.
Apollo! Home of electrical appliances even cheaper than Argos!
Apollo! Home of the video eye of the Olympian Kelly,
You show all our football teams when we buy a telly.

Notes

I say, let’s play the Corinthian way.
