The Boat called Shanks

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We boarded the boat at Albert Dock
And when we saw our captain we got quite a shock.
We had to look twice as believing was hard
As our captain that day was the great Stevie Gerrard.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He said welcome aboard, your boat is called “SHANKS”
As he started to guide us away from the banks.
Everyone was dressed in red, we all felt great
On the back of Stevies shirt he wore number 8.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “SHANKS” was some boat, named after a special man
We felt really proud to be a LIVERPOOL fan.
As we travelled out to sea and over the waves
Captain Gerrard told us stories of Pepe Reina’s saves.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Stevie said to us we are going to sail west
But we didn’t care as we knew “SHANKS” was the best.
He told many a Red story and was just really cool
We could see how proud he was to play for LIVERPOOL.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Below the deck we could hear quite a noise
And when we looked closer it was another of the boys.
We were all taken a back, it was very plain to see
Jamie Carragher stood there wearing number 23.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Carra said come on down boys, you’re excited I bet
Let me show you what’s in this Liverpool cabinet.
As he opened the door excitement gathered pace
5 European Cups stared out at our face.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 We heard Captain Gerrard shout it’s time to go home
Let’s sing a song, YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE
You could feel “SHANKS” rocking as our hairs stood on end
Carra shouted JUSTICE FOR THE 96, WE WILL FIGHT TO THE END….
