The Boys of Anfield

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Oh the Boys of Anfield were once the finest there could be
Football played with passion, like the rhythm of the sea
They’d coax and stroke and send the ball pass and move to goal
With skills to trap your willin’ heart, breathe life into your soul

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 There was Aldo baggin’ every chance below the settin’ sun
Digger played with dignity and Rushie scored for fun
The might of hell so easy fell ‘fore the cannons of Jimmy C
Spreadin’ balls like wisdom with the style of Stevie G

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There was Rowdy there was Cally there was Heighway on the wing
The crown of Anfield proudly worn by our Celtic King
Thommo from the Spion Kop wore his heart on every sleeve
And when we won the bloody lot you should’ve heard us sing

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 There was Jocky and Mark Lawrenson safe across the back
Robbie walked on water, Brucie on his hands
Smithy rose like Lazarus, the rock called Terry Mac
And all because of Cagney’s twin the man we know as Shanks!
