half time when I got to the bar
it’s only a friendly after all
who cares, whatever the score?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The season starts on Saturday proper
with three points and a win
this Community whatsit means nowt to me
when the Premier’s about to begin.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Thought I’d watch the rest of the match
just to see how the new lads play
this is such a pointless game
and nothing gained at the end of the day.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But what’s this? Oh, nice one United
Smalling, getting the touch
so game on, and we’re in with a chance
as these Blues don’t seem much.

some say the best they’ve seen
for movement, poise and skill
Nani’s goal is a flippin’ dream.
