The crying game.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We are approaching that time of the season
When we will be embarrassed by grown men who cry
As they sit in the stands, with their heads in their hands
And their tears are seen by millions on SKY.
Be it a confirmed relegation
Or one of those dreaded play off defeats
And long after the stadium is empty
These people remain in their seats.
And by the more cynical supporters
These fans are often treated with disdain
It’s so sad to see grown men crying
After all it is only a game………Isn’t it ?

Notes

I have shed a few tears myself over the years, but I suppose being a lifetime Newcastle United fan I have had more reason than most.
