The Gene Kelly Stand (Blackpool 2008)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Let the bright sun shine, because it’s been a long time
and our Blackpool heroes are doing just fine
beneath the blue sky, we’ll be flying so high
we won’t fail, while you’re singing in the rain

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’re in the Championship, and we can’t let it slip
Young guns from Wembley, who shoot from the hip
Its profits not seating, when our budgets are fleeting
we won’t fail, while you’re singing in the rain

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Let our forwards run free, to create misery
beneath a tangerine sun, we’ll score two or three
we’ll survive relegation, and there’ll be celebration
we won’t fail, while you’re singing in the rain

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 As our drums bravely beat, with the ball at our feet
against any team, we’ll turn up the heat
when you know you are snared, there’ll be no quarter spared
we won’t fail, while you’re singing in the rain

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 You’re singing in the rain, you away fans again
we’ve asked for your comfort, but our request is in vain
you’ll sink in our sand, in the Gene Kelly Stand
we won’t fail, while you’re singing in the rain

Notes

Even though The Seasiders currently play in the English Championship,
mostly to full houses, and after winning the play offs at Wembley, we still only have 2 sides to our ground.
