The Monday Morning After the Weekend Before

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 They’re like buses, they really are
You wait ages for one
Then two turn up at once
One played on sunny Merseyside
The other in North London, thirty degrees read the theometer
A number of miles between the two rivalries
That can be counted on one hand
And while chanting and banter is all well and good
Its ok to have a laugh at the others misfortune on the field

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But some take it too far

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Spurs fans chanting sickening things to Adebayor
With women and children there
No place for such thing in the modern game
Spurs along with Arsenal have said that they are disturbed
By what has been said, they’ll put on a united front
To find those “fans”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Whilst twenty four hours before
Up north a couple hundred miles away
The 216th Merseyside derby was underway
Again with the abusive chants
Directed to the club as a whole
And not just an individual
Missiles were thrown at Bellamy, Carroll and Suarez
We’ve all seen the footage
But Everton say the footage only suggest missiles were thrown *
Where did they come from then
Did a passing seagull drop them from overhead?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 And that’s just off the field

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 On the field we had, lets see
Red cards – check
Goals – check
A call for a hand ball that led to a goal and an unhappy Wenger – check
A penalty – check

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Yep certainly was an interesting weekend

Notes

We all look forward to playing the derby, the big rival you always want to beat, however this can sometimes be overshadowed by what goes on, off the field, whilst a good amount of banter is OK unfortunatly occasionally a minority do take it too far and to me as someone who is passionate about football, to go as far as to mock the dead of the other team well you just have to wonder what sort of a person could sink to that low a level these people are most certainly not football “fans”.

*Everton have said they will be looking into it
