The Paisley Days

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Paisley took the reigns, filling the great void left by Shanks
Decline was predicted but new players filled the ranks,
Believing in pass and move, the old Liverpool tradition
And after the league and UEFA Cup double of 73 Liverpool were on a mission.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Come 1977 we would go one better and win the finest footballing prize
A 3-1 win against Moenchengladbach, scousers with pride, cried,
Goals from Neal, McDermott and Smith gave us the glory
And just to think if Paisley would have left it could have been a different story.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Old players with new, it was a perfect dream
And soon Dalglish and Hansen would add more strength to the team,
In 1978 we retained the Cup in Europe
But sadly we lost the league to Forest, simply a minor problem.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Winning trophies here, there and everywhere
Please name me a stronger football team if you dare,
Finally after much success Paisley made way for Fagan
Carrying on the winning ways for the loyal Liverpool fan.
