The Transfer Window

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 This transfer window is driving me insane
Causing me nothing but heartache and pain
Like Doomsday the 31st is looming near
I stare at the calendar in anxiety and fear

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 This season we’ve struggled to find our form
So many injuries, we haven’t performed
Sometimes the team would play like strangers
So many borrowed we’re called the Loan Rangers

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We all looked forward to the January window
In came Ryan and we thought, “Here we go”
With Terry’s magic our troubles would end
But since then nothing else has happened

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I enquire of news from everyone that I meet
“When will Jonny sign?” I ask old women in the street
“That’s Dixon of Wycombe, I think that you mean”
“At this stage, I’d be happy with Dixon of Dock Green”

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 My nerves are shredded, I can’t take any more
Give me some good news with Shotsweb I implore
“Shots gun down Dixon”, Sky Sports reveal
But Terry replies, “That’s far from a done deal!”

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Madjo, Elding, Alsop, we’ve looked at the lot
But not one of them wanted to become a Shot
Now we hear Orient are looking at Tim Sills
I am rushing to take some more of those pills

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So please, come on Terry, put me out of my pain
Pull that rabbit from out of the hat once again
Tell me when you pick the next team that you
won’t be playing four-six-zero but four-four-two!

Notes

Aldershot’s struggles to sign a striker in the Transfer Window continue. For the season we have played with one striker, Tim Sills, and a whole host of Loanees. We all wait nervously for Manager Terry Brown to sign replacements, with Wycombe’s Jonny Dixon favourite to come in. But nothing ever goes smoothly at Aldershot and we still wait… and wait….. and …..!!
