1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There’s an “Ex footballer and broadcaster” on “Newsnight Review”
What! Are they running out of guests?
It’ll be all “Er… yer know what I mean or er… they’ll have to up the tempo,
He’ll be………. real quality at best”!

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But they all talk in mono syllables, are stupid dense and thick
Too much heading of that heavy leather round things
Left them, punchy, slow and….. rich

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 No this bloke was interesting, more than capable of joining a debate
But, what’s usual at that time of night is that they’re out, getting off their face
No seriously he was reviewing plays at the theatre, films, the latest books
The other panelists seemed quite in awe of him, as they caste admiring looks

Usually its Prada, cars, birds, the booze and bling
He spoke about reading Joyce’s “Ulysses” when he was just a boy at school
Get away with you, you’re after having me on, do you take me for a fool?

Aint all eighteen carat planks of wood?
Yeah, see for yourself next time you have a Saturday spare
Don’t believe all you read in the papers
Typecasting those do to with “The football”
It might do you some good!

Still an interesting bloke, like when he played
Not all of us who love “The game” are drunken thugs and morons
In spite of what the papers say!

Wee Pat Nevin, were the ball and his boots both laced with grace together? Chelsea team mates and fans thought so, as he was so reluctant to get rid of the ball once he got out it out there in that Heaven of his that’s known as the wing! They were just…..inseparable.
