WC2014 Day 9 Ecuador 2 Honduras 1

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Throughout the years, the World Cup has been blessed with strange-named blokes.
Argentina’s Killer (see! his poor opponent croaks!)
and Seaman from the English team, the source of many jokes
and now we have the brilliant Carlo Costly.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Honduras haven’t won a game in eight long World Cup matches
and that is why the label of the underdog attaches.
Yet sometimes when they have an itch, you know which player scratches –
the wily and the wondrous Carlo Costly.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He smashed one versus Ecuador and really did the bizz.
He’s lively round the area, is full of spark and fizz.
Is he costly to maintain? I don’t believe he is.
I wish that Shels would sign up Carlo Costly.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Valencia scored two fine goals to more or less dismiss
Honduras from the World Cup if they do not thrash the Swiss.
But the one thing that I’m sure will stick in my small mind is this –
how great to have a name like Carlo Costly.
