Proportioned like a house
In days before game was organised
By the likes of Stanley Rous
Custodian of odium
From opposition crowds

Clear and free from score
As “Willy Don’t Be Silly”
Became the shed heads roar

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Willie and girth made mirth as blue boys got about
The railway lines were reinforced to support a keeper stout
The goal was really miniscule as Willie blocked it out
A shoulder charge on Willie? A mad man would no doubt !

Is the famous shot that I recall, the one I love the best
Willie you’re a hero son, irrespective of yer size
But was it you that inspired the song, “Who Ate All the Pies”?

It’s said a giant shadow casts itself on ground below
As an ample lad with a body pad he wasn’t afraid to show
Looks down on the shed end revered, a place where diamonds glow
Willie you’re a hero son, irrespective of yer size
But was it you that inspired the song “Who ate all the pies”?

No more of heavy polar necks and Harris tweed type caps
Move around the area with strutting cheetah stance
Willie with agility? Not a blimmin chance
Willie guarded penalty box, like a ton of lard
He was cunning as a fox, wily and so hard
Never known to moan or groan, never known to cry
Willie you’re a hero son, irrespective of yer size

Willie Foulke a keeper of some stature and infamy along the Fulham Road ! A true twenty eight stone eighteen carat rhapsody in blue!

Sir Stanley Rous was I think the English bloke in charge of Fifa, Eufa or maybe the FA, not too sure but Eds, give us a hand please?

Sir Stanley Rous (April 25, 1895 –July 18, 1986) was an English referee and administrator.

Originally a teacher, Rous played football at amateur level in goal, as well as being an international-standard referee officiating at 36 international matches. After retiring from playing he moved into administration; he served as secretary of the Football Association from 1934 to 1962, and president of FIFA from 1961 to 1974. Upon his retirement as president, on June 11, 1974, he was nominated Honorary President of FIFA.

Rous made a major contribution to the game by rewriting the Laws of the Game in 1938, making them simpler and easier to understand.
