All Wait Patiently

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 In the summer I’d have said
He’ll be our player of the year
But now in spring he’s almost dead
The end of season near.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 From box to box he used to run
On the wing, a dynamo
In the cold and bereft of sun
Missing his get-up-and-go.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Assists and goals all were his
His feet the home of the ball
Now he’s more likely to miss
If he gets a kick at all.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The skill’s within but won’t come out
And no-one finds a key
Still he likes to run about
And we all wait patiently.
