As A Nation Waits..

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 As a nation waits with bated breathe
On the outcome of tonight’s duress
I’ve laid on crisps n tea n pop
All purchased from my local shop.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 When the lads take to the field of play
We’ll be there in mind, though far away
To stand and sing the anthem loud
Emotive tears cascading down.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As the whistle blows to start the match
We’ll ignore then as that what’s it chap
Drowns our hopes in his staged despair
It’s what we always do when we’re almost there.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 O Liverpool. O London town.
O Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham
We’ll toast your banners in the stadium
Hanging proud with cities names on ’em’.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 O Danny Murphy, O Kevin Kilbane
I pray one of you get to call this game
We need inspiration from within the box
With Rooney praised, and not to wish him dropped.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So come on lads and ladies shout and scream
Giving it plenty of verbal for the team
So when half-times comes and a wins in sight
You’ll recall a wonderful game on a blinding night!

Notes

Just my take on trying to be really positive.

O I Do Hope We Win The World Cup.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
