Chopper Harris and Tommy Smith

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Chopper Harris and Tommy Smith
Eventually dispelled the myth.
When both went charging for the ball
It seemed the sky itself would fall.
As Smith came thund’ring in full tilt,
Brave Chopper’s nerve began to wilt
And, pulling out with deathly pallor,
Chose discretion over valour.

Notes

Don’t know whether this story is apocryphal or not but I definitely remember hearing it in the early seventies. Smith and Harris both went for the same ball and Harris pulled out.
