Croatia v Russia.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Lets not kid ourselves here…
For the sake of on-going diplomatic relations
Croatia for us…are a far safer draw
The thought of playing Vlad’s Lads
In a semi midst a rammed Moscow stadium
Carried serious political implications
Nothing whatsoever to do with an illustrious sport
The red cynic in me…squared with a hint of West London détente and…Oh Lor!
Emanating, during…last evenings penalty shoot-out furore.

Notes

Two awful penalties – the first of which I didn’t actually realize had been saved, it was so slowly surreal – caused a big sigh of relief in my living room last night I have to say in all honesty.
I mean…who would have sat sharing a spiked Bovril at Vlad’s,
Keeping a beady eye on the fate of the Ingerland lads? BoJo?

Go well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.
