Effing this and that
Is the language of football.
A waste of grammar.
English is a strong language
No need for profanity.

Words available
Allow you to curse with ease.
Politeness is free.
Swearing shows no language skill,
TV cameras show all.

Remove the F word,
And a player is struck dumb,
Knowing no others.
The language of the gutter
Thrives well on the field of play.

How can you expect
The young players of today
To show you respect
If they see their heroes swear
With such regularity?

Use this in Rugby
Then you’re off the field quickly,
And correctly so.
The Ref commands the respect
Not given to his football peers.

And berate him with foul words,
Respect, down the tubes.
Soon respect for you will wane.
Do you care? I suspect not.
