Earning Respect

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Effing this and that
Is the language of football.
A waste of grammar.
English is a strong language
No need for profanity.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Words available
Allow you to curse with ease.
Politeness is free.
Swearing shows no language skill,
TV cameras show all.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Remove the F word,
And a player is struck dumb,
Knowing no others.
The language of the gutter
Thrives well on the field of play.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 How can you expect
The young players of today
To show you respect
If they see their heroes swear
With such regularity?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Use this in Rugby
Then you’re off the field quickly,
And correctly so.
The Ref commands the respect
Not given to his football peers.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 All surround the Ref
And berate him with foul words,
Respect, down the tubes.
Soon respect for you will wane.
Do you care? I suspect not.

Notes

It would be nice to see ANY player show some respect.
