Eminem tries his hand at football

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Listen up,
it ain’t for me, to be the Great Pretender *
more like, a wannabe defender
yeh, that’s more my style
I’m ditching the 8 mile
gonna use all my guile
wanna be top of the pile

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 ok, alright, so you wanna get past me
you ain’t got no respect, you think that I’m varsity
but I’m from Detroit, renowned car city
you think that it ain’t in my locker
that I don’t have the nous, to sweat it and play soccer
think I’m too fond of the mocca
ain’t taken enuff, of them beta-blocker
but I got news for you, you ain’t getting by
an’ I’m telling you why
it ain’t coz I’m high
or looking up to the sky
an’ I know you like to pry
you think I’m so unfit that I’ll die
but I’ll keep forcing you out wide
keep you over by the side
an’ as much as you chide
you gonna lose your pride
coz everything that you’ve tried
I’ve anticipated and espied
you ain’t gonna turn the tide;
– if you could have just one shot –
then I’ll have failed in my mission
but I know I’m gonna have you dissin’
so listen
to my riff
coz you won’t get a sniff
of that net over there
no matter how much you care
you wouldn’t even dare
to pull off your shirt and go bare
coz you ain’t gonna score
ain’t gonna be a legend no more
for this is my fresh livin’ chore
to be the bouncer on the door
maitre d’ on the floor
the master in the air
I’ll be the one that they chair
coz I’m the new breed
keep us hanging onto our lead
an’ I’ll lead us to the party
coz yeh, I’m the ultimate smartie!

Notes

guess who watched 8 Mile last night?

Respect, to the wordplay, of the Rhyme Master 4 the Ghetto Blaster
not so his morals
love him or loath him, he’s hard to ignore

the moniker? to the uninitiated, MC Cheddar Bob was the hapless friend of the lead character, played by Marshall Mathers (Eminem), in the
rap gangsta film ‘8 Mile’.

Also witnessed the worst rasta wig in film history :
(the character played by Meki Phifer – Dr Pratt in ER).

* The Great Pretender : classic #1 by The Platters, 1956
a musical style far, far removed from Eminem.

Now try reading it with all the moves!
(head noddin’, arms pumpin’ & lots of bling bling!)
