1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Wondrous free kicks, tap ins, volleys
Breathtaking and sublime
Headers, deft back heels with just enough
To cross the line divine.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Sad keepers stood in disbelief
As wild exocets flew in
Whilst the culprit from the other team
Struts his stuff and grins.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Show us another angle
Show us it once again
Show us fans embrace pure fantasy
Show the keepers pain.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Show a manager rising from the bench
In astounded disbelief
Show the inconsolable, totally gutted men
Who hang their heads in grief.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Seen enough already, you’ve made yer mind up then?
Answers on a post card please, A B C from ten
Whilst Gary reads the autocue telling us what to do
Write yer fancies nice ‘n’ clear, and win a pair of seats for two.

Best be eighteen, and get permission from yer mum,
Pray make sure you get your votes in
For last Saturday night’s October…. blinding Goal Of The Month!

As anyone who reads me rantings here knows. I’m no big fan of some of the pundits and somewhat tired format of M oft D.

So they won’t read this poem out on Auntie Beeb then Kev?(as if).

I do catch the show on the odd occasion and last night I have to say after watching, what a blinding selection of quite simply terrific goals have been chosen for October’s goal of the month competition. The second (I think) Wigan goal at Anfield and the first Spurs goal at The Emirates are me choice’s in case anyone’s interested!
