It Isn’t Easy Being Green

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Robert sits behind the scenes
Waiting, just waiting
Wanting to be picked
For the World Cup finals
Between the sticks
Not even as number one
Or substitute
But the saddest of all
The second reserve in the squeaky tracksuit

Notes

Reality is TV and a wall chart. Scott Carson may be reading his German phrase book as I write. Out in the real world, it happens a lot sooner, the younger and more talented shoving aside those who have lost their flavour. Greeno’s lucky he got away with it as long as he did.
