1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It helps if you’ve played the game
and been pretty decent too
so if you’d like to apply
this is what we expect from you.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 If chosen as the right applicant
you’ll need to get the fans on your side
as supporters can often be really fickle
and the dug out’s no place to hide.

so you’ll be resolute and tough
the rewards for success will be high
but not so good when times are rough.

like why don’t your strikers ever shoot ?
So you’ll be able to think on your feet
be articulate, clever, smart and cute.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So if you think you’re up for the job
and you’ve got a masters degree
then please apply for the above vacancy
to be the next manager of Coventry City F.C. !

Notes

As we are searching for a new manager the local paper says they’ve had forty applicants already.

Ex players Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley are in charge for now and beating Birmingham the other night helped them stake a claim too.

The fans were already chanting Shaw’s name out at the end, only a few days after Thorn got the sack.

Which inspired me to write this.

Us fans can be a hard hearted lot at times I reckon, as we forget about a departed manager really quickly especially when we’ve just won !

And thanks to Jim Dolbear for his Haiku and encouraging comments.
much appreciated.
