Whilst days are bright and long
Thoughts linger on
As warm evenings wind up
Just how did we play so bad
In the 2006 World Cup?

Some blame the amount of games our boys
Played in that last season?
Other blokes played as many but were fitter
So that can’t be the reason?

Blame the Wags all fake suntans
And Manolo heels clip clopping
That’s it! Our boys are plain worn out
From flashing credit cards and shopping!

“You can’t blame the birds that’s just absurd
They toasted England’s glory”?
If our fans had been drunk half as much
The polizie would have locked them up
But that’s another story!

Next time, if there is one!
Leave the birds at home
Mind you most are fly by nights
So by then they will have flown

Did any other team make such a scene
Of showing off like rich young fools?
No they were there to win their games
And focus on “The Jules”

Monks aint what we’re looking for
But for just one precious month
Let the birds have a jolly up in Centreparcs
Whilst the blokes get business done!
