My Favourite Player

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 My favourite player growing up as a kid,
Wasn’t Giggs or Zidane,
Outside of football’s glitz and glam,

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 In the old third division,
At the humble Britannia Stadium,
Costing a quarter of a million,

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Stoke’s best player in the first few years of my life,
Inspired me to kick a ball when I was five,
He scored the first ever goal I saw live,

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But next season he would leave Stoke City,
Which hit me as a heart-breaking pity,
He would go on to bigger things at Cardiff City,

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 34 goals in 205 games from our midfield star,
I hadn’t heard of Ronaldo or Cantona,
My favourite player was Graham Kavanagh.
