Reality Check.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Will finale take ones breath away
With the thrills served up last night?
When their joints creak will old punters say
“I was there, t’was a full on rousing fight”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 One moment them, the next one.. us
Heading toward no chance
As hopeful blows were thrown with pluck
By fighters stood entranced.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Mistakes and human error
Excitement, guts, finesse
“Oh no” disappointment, terror
Jubilation, emptiness.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Emotionally drained and worn out
Did they possess any more resolve
Could we out perform and shut them down
Scoring one more precious goal?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We were on our knees and beaten
They were out on their feet still stood
Mere words the taste can’t sweeten
When those loved leave us for good.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The greatest Champions League tie ever?
Is what that game was deemed
Will pale by comparison for ever more
As the day before we remembered the 96 from six past three.

A game of fantasy football was played last night, today real life and the hard reality that is the loss of life should take the headlines.

At times like this words cannot say how any of us feel.

But I thought I should say at the very least something… anything.

May their God go with them and may they Rest In Peace.
