I don’t mind admitting
I’m really quite partial
To all the fine poems
Of Ms. Sharon Marshall.

The scope of ideas and
The sentence construction,

Expounded by Liverpool’s

Although she writes mainly
Of Anfield and Shankly,
Her words touch the hearts
Of all football fans, frankly.

Poetry blossoms when
The poet’s in anguish.

Her poems though mightn’t
Be so reverential,
If she followed a team that
Had certain potential!

To be fresh and inspired

Are jaded and tired?

Yet still she produces
A sparkling confection,
Despite Monsieur Houllier’s
Crass team selection.
