Spain v Iran & Morocco v Portugal

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Iran
Ran and ran
Though the first halfs game plan
Failed pretty miserably.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Then a cruel twist of fate
Snatched scant chance of victory away
Proving it clearly wasn’t their day
Courtesy of a ricochet off Costa’s knee.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Cool dude Christy Ron
Nuts one in early on
Yet Portugal continue to struggle, tis odd?
Could it possibly be
One Portuguese,
Blessed with sublime artistry,
Can carry an under-performing squad on his Tod?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Absolutely felt for Morocco
Who really gave it a go
Yet with one game to play are now done
I could launch a verbal attack
On a cynical Portuguese centre back
Whose cheating histrionics are anything but…fun
Though…“Cheats rarely prosper”, I was warned by me mum!

Notes

On Spain: They got something about them the Spanish. Not playing at all well, but sticking to the game plan and still nicking results. A somewhat fortunate goal indeed, but…they all count.

On Portugal & Morocco:
In big tournament games, big names turn up and do the business. So Ron continues to turn it on big-time, on the World stage, he was born to perform on, but…where are his team-mates? I understand two or three have been taken to task back home, by fans not happy with their performances at club level? Well the same could be said of the majority of the squad from what I’ve witnessed so far here. I thought Morocco deserved at the very least a draw from this game.

Go well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.
