Tell It Like It is!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 They use big words that blind us
Driving us insane
As most of them try to remind us
“It’s about winning every game”.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Of course it is, we all know that
But ain’t it kinda nice
When a bloke comes on the telly
To say “The ref was right?”.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “We were beaten by the better team
We were out of sorts today
We couldn’t raise a head of steam
We were simply just outplayed”.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 They’re the words I wanna hear
When me gaffer comes on the box
Not forked tongue speak from a bloke
It’s clear, whose totally lost the plot.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So don’t try ‘n’ puzzle us with science
Quantum physics or weird theory
As the King of Anfield Road advised*,
“To play a game like football, is very simple really!”.

Notes

Following on from Alan Mac’s smart poetic observation of the men in charge, I have to take me hat of to the managers of: Hull, Fulham and West Ham for coming on the box, this past week, and telling it how it was.

Whether it was agreeing with a ref, for banishing him to the stand, or how his team never turned up to play after a good run recently and got what they deserved from the game….nothing, and last but not least for Gian-Franco Zola because ….. words simply fail me, and believe me that’s not something that happens very often.
