When Not To Applaud!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A claret and blue as you do
Took the throw in long
Di Canio in one stride flicked it up
Then volleyed it on
It hit the net
With pure regret
For Blue Boys gathered there
I stood up and applauded
Honestly I swear
I could have been a space man
Who had just come down
As the looks I got from fellow fans
Turned in to angry frowns
The goal it self was brilliant
At least it was to me
Is that what makes me different
In what I do and see?
I laud the skill no matter who
Or what team they play for
This beautiful game was all the same
Though not in shirts they wore!

Notes

Yeah it happened to me. I applauded a fantastic goal from a throw in by Paolo Di Canio when he was with the ‘Ammers’. The fans around me surprised me cos I stood up and just went “did you see that, it was just so great” now I know how Jasper Carrott felt cheering a B’Ham goal at Old Trafford sat amongst a load of Mancs!

peace.

kev.
